Housing rental compensation

Individuals and families who are entitled to housing rent compensation are:

  • do not own a dwelling in Lithuania, or whose own dwelling is more than 60% depreciated (according to the data of the Real Estate Cadastre), or whose own dwelling(s) per person or family member has a useful area (sum of useful areas) of less than 10 m2 (or 14 m2 if the family includes a disabled person or a person with a serious chronic illness);
  • have declared their place of residence in Vilnius District or are registered as having no place of residence in Vilnius District;
  • have concluded a housing lease agreement for at least 1 year and have registered it in the Real Estate Register of the State Enterprise "Centre of Registers";
  • have declared (declaration form FR0001) their assets and income for the previous calendar year and the value of these assets and income does not exceed the following limits (only net after tax) annual income is considered:

Please submit the following to the Vilnius District Municipality Administration:

  • Application: for assistance to purchase housing (to receive compensation for part of the rent) BP-2 or Application: for assistance to rent housing (to receive compensation for part of the rent) BP-4;
  • a copy of a housing lease or lease-purchase agreement concluded for at least one year in accordance with the conditions laid down in the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania, according to which the person (family) rents a dwelling belonging to natural or legal persons (other than the municipality), located on the territory of the municipality of the Vilnius district;
  • written consent to the Municipal Administration processing and obtaining from state registers and other information systems your (your family members) personal data and information (about the composition of the family, the person's (or in the case of a family – all members of the family's) declared place of residence, an extract from the central data bank of the Centre of Registers of the Register of Real Estate on the immovable property owned (or not) by you (or your family), according to the procedure set forth in the Law.
