decoration

As of this morning, power has still not been restored to some residents of the Vilnius District, which has led to continued disruptions in water supply and sewage disposal.

On 30 July a state of emergency has been declared in Vilnius District Municipality. On the morning of 31 July, according to ESO (Energy Distribution Operator) data, around 20 500 customers in Vilnius District were still experiencing power outages.

Energy Distribution Operator (ESO) is responsible for solving power outages

How long the emergency lasts will depend on how quickly the power supply can be restored and other essential services can be provided to the population.

Power outages can be registered on ESO's website www.eso.lt or by calling 1852.

For up-to-date information, visit ESO's fault map for electricity problems: https://www.eso.lt/web/atjungimai-planiniai-neplaniniai.

Vilnius District Municipality, for its part, is focusing all its resources and activities on addressing the consequences of the storm and aiding the residents of the district.

Currently the main roads of Vilnius District Municipality are passable. Storm recovery work is continuing, and cemetery clean-up work is starting. Please note that trees (branches) that have fallen or leaned on electricity wires or poles are being handled by ESO, and the municipality cannot do this for safety reasons.

Please note that the residents of Vilnius District can inform about the need for assistance or about the threatening effects of heavy rain and wind by calling +370 5 275 1990, +370 5275 6925, or by e-mailing pagalba@vrsa.lt.

For emergency assistance, please call the common emergency number 112.

For drinking water supply, you can contact your utility company

The municipal utilities companies UAB “Nemenčinės komunalininkas” and UAB “Nemėžio komunalininkas” are providing drinking water in the most affected areas, either by connecting electricity generators to pumping stations or by delivering drinking water to residents in containers.

In some areas, well water is available, or the electricity supply has already been restored.

In such areas, the utilities will also connect electricity generators to the sewage pumping stations to ensure wastewater treatment.

The storms of recent days have caused a lot of damage and inconvenience to all of us. We understand that many of us are currently facing difficulties due to power outages. However, it is only by working together, helping each other and approaching the situation with understanding that we can overcome these challenges.
