Coat of arms of Mickūnai

decoration

The blue field of the coat of arms depicts a deeply waving silver stripe and three golden seven-pointed stars, one above and two below the stripe.

The blue colour of the shield’s field symbolises not only pure and beautiful nature, but also wisdom. The silver wavy stripe represents the meandering River Vilnia (silver is the colour of the water) flowing through Mickūnai. The band is partly reminiscent of the first letter of the name Mickūnai. The three golden stars represent three famous Vilnius University graduates, who were enlightened at the time and contributed a lot of to science, medicine, scrubbing and literature in the region.

The standard of the Mickūnai coat of arms was created by the artist Arvydas Každailis.
